Washington Wizards All-Star point guard John Wall underwent multiple examinations on Wednesday that revealed five non-displaced fractures in his left wrist and hand, the team announced Thursday via their in-house Monumental Network.

Wall and the team are consulting with several doctors and specialists to determine the best course of action, and his playing status has yet to be determined.

He sat out the team's game two loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, while game three is at Verizon Center on Saturday.

The Wizards had been calling the injury a bad sprain, and, in fact, Wall said on Tuesday that X-rays revealed no broken bones.

But at that point Wall had not undergone an MRI, among other tests, because the swelling needed to go down before he could undergo the exam, which would reveal any ligament damage or smaller fractures.

Thursday's news, if it means Wall will be unable to play, could be a severe blow to the Wizards" play-off hopes.
