Lehmann spent close to six years in two stints at Arsenal, winning the Premier League title in 2004 as part of the historic Invincible squad.

The former Germany international oversaw his first training session at Arsenal on Wednesday, July 5 after agreeing on a deal to be part of Wenger’s backroom staff.

As a first team coach at Arsenal, the former goalkeeper is working with outfield players and goalkeepers in what is his first coaching role.

He was pictured in Arsenal coaching strip having discussions with his boss Wenger.

Lehmann who worked as a coach at Arsenal when he was studying for his badge, is the third recruit to backroom staff of the Gunners this summer.

Arsenal recently got Australian fitness expert Darren Burgess who is now director of high performance.

Huss Fahmy, formerly of Team Sky has also been brought in to take care of contracts.
