The 21-year-old hurt his left knee in a collision with France colleague Mathieu Bastareaud during Toulouse's 34-24 Top 14 victory over Toulon.
However, scans have shown that Fickou - a star performer in France's Six Nations loss to England last weekend - will not require an operation.
He is quoted by L'Equipe as saying: "This is reassuring. I should be able to play again in two months."
The French Rugby Federation offered their support to the player on Sunday, tweeting: "We wish a speedy recovery to @FickouG!"

Fickou will now focus on regaining full fitness ahead of this year's Rugby World Cup, which starts on September 18.
