Sebastian Vettel looking to keep up momentum
Sebastian Vettel is hoping to keep his momentum going as the Formula One season heads to one of the German driver's favourite tracks.
Vettel was able to claw back 25 points to championship leader Lewis Hamilton on Sunday, claiming first place in Singapore as Hamilton failed to finish the race due to a power failure.
The Ferrari driver is now 49 points behind Mercedes' Hamilton with six races left in the 2015 season.
Vettel has climbed the podium in six of his last eight visits to Japan, also claiming the 2011 championship at the Suzuka circuit.
"Japan is a country that I learned to love in many ways because of the fans and the culture," Vettel said.
"Generally people are pretty passionate about this and about racing, so it was a bit more special to win the [2011] championship there. The way we celebrated after gives me a lot of good memories too."
The four-time world champion described the 307.4km course as a "typical drivers' track", pushing the cars to their limit because of its combination of high- and low-speed corners.
"It's a typical drivers' track, I think a lot of drivers like it," said the 28-year-old.
"It's a very fast-flowing track with a lot of high-speed corners especially on the first sector up the S's. I think it's really nice because you get to feel the limit of the car and it makes you feel very alive.
"So it's something that I think that not just I but most of the other drivers enjoy a lot."
