Robinson warns Leeds United will suffer for rejecting Super Eagles forward
Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has come down hard on Leeds United for passing up the opportunity to sign Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho.
Premier League side Leeds United were linked with the Nigerian international hours before the transfer deadline but a deal did not materialise as the 25-year-old remained with Leicester City.
Iheanacho has put the possible departure behind him and showed his readiness to battle for Leicester City when he scored just 52 seconds into the match in Sunday's league clash with Brighton and Hove Albion.
Robinson on Leeds United striker dearth
However, Robinson believes that ninth-placed Leeds United should have completed a deal for the Nigerian international nonetheless in order to bolster their striking options.

The one-time Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper noted that Leeds United have only Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo (injured) as the senior striking options in their squad.
Robinson told Mot Leeds News: "I think they were naive going into the rest of the season. If Patrick is fit, he plays, but looking behind that, maybe his (head coach Jesse Marsch’s) hand was drawn to play Gelhardt.
"He’s going until January now with someone whose fitness is touch and go, and young strikers that the manager doesn’t trust 100%."
Iheanacho perfect fit for Leeds United - Robinson
The ex-England international stated that Iheanacho would have been a good fit to the Leeds United style of play, highlighting the Nigerian international's ability to press from the front.
"Iheanacho would be a great player, a very similar option to Bamford. He can lead from the line and press from the front, Jesse Marsch likes his team to start high up the field and he (Iheanacho) would be good for that," Robinson explained.
Leeds United were undefeated in their first three (3) league games of the season (two wins, one draw) but are now winless in the following three (two losses, one draw) after losing Rodrigo to injury in their Matchday 5 draw with Everton.
