Simon Cowell joins season 11 of series as judge

NBC has announced that  former American Idol judge, Simon Cowell will join the 11th season of the TV show, America's Got Talent.'

Cowell is joining the show as Howard Stern, a judge on the show, has said he won't be returning for the next season, following a four-year run.

I am really thrilled to be joining America’s Got Talent next season,” Cowell said.

“What I love about this show is that it’s open to absolutely anyone. America has some fantastic talent just waiting to be discovered, and I would like that talent to come to our show, including any dogs who can sing!”

Cowell became popular as a judge on the first nine seasons of American Idol. He created the Got Talent style.

He has been a judge on the British Got Talent show since its debut in 2007. After his exit from American Idol  as a judge, Cowell went on to be a judge on the U.S. version of The X Factor.
