It’s another day in Nigeria, and another member of D’banj’s DB Records has left the label.

Founded in 2012, DB Records have had quite a number of people signed and unsigned, with Jay Sleek, and J. Sol once calling this house home. The label later underwent a bit of a reshuffle, with new acts announced and celebrated. D’banj currently leads this house, with his brother Kayswitch, producer DeeVee, singer-brothers 2kriss, and actress cum singer, Tonto Dikeh, completing the production crew.

But at the moment, their ranks have been decimated, with three crucial people walking out the door, and turning their backs on the singer and his name. First up was a key staffer, Jei Jei Lee, who had served as D’banj’s personal manager for the past couple of years. He unceremoniously walked through the door, cleaning his social media handles of any affiliative markers.

Another person who has followed suit this week is in-house producer, and a crucial member of the label due to his mastery of sound, and the leader of the musical direction of every singer in the house – DeeVee. The music maker has split ways from the label, after a brief disagreement with D’banj. Efforts to get a story from him have met the ‘no comments’, reply, but the tweet below does seem to pretty much provide confirmation.

Tonto Dikeh is also out. The first lady of the Lee Kingdom, and most controversial of the lot is on a hiatus, due to her efforts at motherhood and family. She has a husband and a child now, and that is all that really matters at the moment. She recently did grant an interview to Golden Icons where she stated that she is out of DB Records.

A call put through to a source close to the record label states that the house is undergoing restructuring. According to the source, DeeVee has an issue to sort out with D’banj, and Tonto Dikeh hasn’t left. She is in the USA, nursing her newborn baby.

D’banj is currently in South Africa for a concert and a number of obligations, and he will be back in Nigeria next week, where a full production meeting will be held and the label will be restructured. All parties will be reasoned with, with the ultimate goal being to bring them back into the fold.
