South Africa's momentum in the third and final Test against the West Indies has been stalled by heavy rain at Newlands.

The Windies were set to start Monday's play on 88-2 in their second innings, still four runs behind South Africa after the hosts made 421 in their first innings in reply to 329 all out.

Play had been due to start at 10.30 local time (08:30 GMT), but persistent downpours saw the first two sessions washed out completely.
Action finally got under way at 15:00 in Cape Town after and early tea was called.
Any hopes the Windies had of winning the Test to snatch a series draw is likely wiped out by Monday's delay, with Leon Johnson and Marlon Samuels - set to resume on 37 and 26 respectively - needing to pile runs on in double-quick time.
