Adrian Peterson, Player Who Hit Son With Tree Branch To Stand Trial In Court

In one of the domestic violence issues hovering around the NFL, a Viking running back, Adrian Peterson will stand trial in December, according to a US court in Texas

The trial has been tentatively scheduled for December 1 for the 29 year-old who was arrested on count of domestic violence in the discipline of his four year-old son who he hit with a tree branch

Counsel to the accused, Defence Attorney Rusty Hardin said:

Mr Peterson is said to have committed the offence in May when he chastised the four year-old for pushing a sibling off a motorbike video game

The accident led to the boy suffering bruises and and cuts on his back, buttocks, legs and scrotum, US local media reported.

Adrian Peterson has already been placed on paid leave by club, Minnesota Vikings, pending the conclusion of the case.
