Nigerian author Chigozie Obioma makes long list of the prestigious 2015 Man Booker Prize. Obioma was longlisted along with 12 others, for his debut novel 'The Fishermen' published by ONE Pushkin Press.

The Fishermen combines classic African Story telling with contemporary fiction which tries to illuminate Nigeria in all its historical, political and cultural complexity.

The long list, or ‘Man Booker Dozen’, for the £50,000 Man Booker Prize was announced on Wednesday, and this is the second year that the prize has been open to writers of any nationality, writing originally in English and published in the UK.

The shortlist of six books will be announced on Tuesday 15 September at a press conference at the London offices of Man Group, the prize’s sponsor.The 2015 winner will be announced on Tuesday 13 October in London’s Guildhall at a black-tie dinner.
