Baseball, softball and bowling shortlisted for 2020 Tokyo Olympics
Baseball and bowling are among the sports being considered by the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee for the Olympic Games in five years.
The eight International Olympic Committee (IOC)-recognised International Federation events were unveiled on Monday, with baseball and softball - which are combined in the nomination list - topping the possible inclusions.
Bowling, karate, roller sports, sporting climbing, squash, surfing and martial arts (wushu) have all been shortlisted ahead September's presentations.
A final decision will be made at the 129th IOC Session in Rio in August 2016.
Air sports, bowls, bridge, chess, dance sport, floorball, flying disc, football, korfball, netball, orienteering, polo, racquetball, sumo, tug of war, underwater sports and waterski and wakeboard failed to make the finalist list.
