The next update may let you share your location in real time

If you are meeting with friends for a house party or something like that, for example, you can share your location and your friends (or family) will be able to direct you accordingly

WhatsApp cofounder Jan Koum, who left Facebook earlier this year, was reportedly upset with with the company's efforts to commercialize the chat app.

According to WABetaInfo, the beta update also comes with some User Interface (UI) changes. When the feature is enabled, a green live location button that lets you share your location with whoever you’re chatting with in real time will show up.

If it does make it to the final update, it may be disabled by default. That means when you do update your WhatsApp, your location sharing capabilities will not be available till you enable them yourself.

Keep in mind that this is just a beta update and there is no guarantee that it will actually make it to the final update. But it does mean that WhatsApp is thinking about such a feature and it could come in a much later update.
