The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari led an entourage of dignitaries to Kano State for the heavy weight wedding.

The President's Special Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad shared the information on Twitter.

The Special Adviser on New Media to the Kano State Government, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, also tweeted photos from the wedding.
According to him, Buhari was the Guardian to the bride, Fatima, while APC National leader AsiwajuBola Tinubu was the guardian to the groom, Idris, at the wedding.
The sum of N50,000 was paid as Fatima's dowry.
Other personalities that were in attendance at the grand wedding fatiha included, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Senate President Bukola Saraki, 22 state governors and 11 ministers as well as over 10 traditional rulers from across the country.
