Black Panther's group of all-female warriors, the Dora Milaje, are a representation we so desperately need.

Nnedi revealed that the three-issue series will follow Okoye, Ayo, and Aneka as they meet up with various Marvel characters while working to protect Wakanda.
In the first issue, "Wakanda Forever: The Amazing Spider-Man", they head to New York City in a mission to protect Wakanda, where they meet up with Peter Parker’s Spider-man.
Nnedi tells Vogue, "I’m super excited about writing this storyline. Powerful disciplined African women with futuristic spears who faced their shortcomings and changed a nation? Oh heck yeah, I’m so there!
Typically when you see them, they’re with T’Challa, representing and protecting him. Now you’re going to see the Dora Miljae for the first time as an independent entity; they’re not under the shadow of the throne.
You feel that you can relate to these characters, and feel they are real, not just iconic, but also human."
About The Dora Milaje
The Dora Milaje, led by General Okoye (Danai Gurira), are special forces soldiers tasked with protecting Wakanda and the King, as seen in Black Panther, when they help rescue Wakandan spy, Nakia, when an undercover assignment goes bad, and later play a pivotal role in helping him reclaim the throne.
The comic book will hit stands on June 27, 2018, and will be followed by two other team-up issues: Wakanda Forever: X-Men in July, and Wakanda Forever: Avengers in August.
