Kanye West CFDA blacklists rapper's fashion brand from NYFW

The Council of Fashion Designers of America blacklists Kanye West's Yeezy brand from New York Fashion Week!

Kanye West is currently in the bad books of the CFDA after fixing his Yeezy Season 5 show for a time slot booked by Marchesa.

The rapper turned creative designer revealed February 15th 2017 for his New York Fashion Week presentation done in collaboration with Adidas without consulting with The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) causing a major clash in the schedule.

The presentation meant to start at 5 p.m at the Pier 59 Studios is a time slot between Anna Sui and Thom Browne which incidentally has already been booked by Marchesa! West reportedly didn't consult with the CFDA about his presentation and they are not happy about it WWD revealed in an exclusive interview.

CFDA was not approached or consulted about the possibility of Kanye West showing on the official New York Fashion Week schedule. As the scheduler of the week, the CFDA works with more than 300 brands to identify appropriate times for them to show their collections and avoid scheduling conflicts. Not going through the proper channels is disruptive to the whole week and unfair to designers who have secured spots through the formal procedure.

This bad behavior is not acceptable to the CFDA and should not be tolerated by the industry. Because of this, the CFDA will not list Kanye West on the official schedule. However, the CFDA is more than willing to work with Kanye on securing an available time slot”; President and chief executive officer of the CFDA, Steven Kolb told WWD in an exclusive statement.

Kanye West had done this in previous seasons forcing other designers to reschedule their presentation and forcing fashion editors and buyers to choose between shows.
