In re-enacting the historic invasion of Kalakuta Republic by the military (following Fela's musical rebellion against the injustices of corrupt governance), A play by Cornel Best Onyekaba directed by Toyin Oshinaike titled 'Fela Son Of Kuti, Fall Of Kalakuta' tells a story of the positive and negative reactions to Fela's ideology from his battered band members who managed to escape into hiding after the traumatic experience.

Voices of band members are oftentimes lost to the fame of their leaders. The play reflects the independent voices of Fela's popular band members in an outburst of music, dance and drama.

At the end, these positive and negative expressions give birth to an entertaining light of what Fela stood for.
