IGP Suleiman Abba

The sacking of former Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, by President Goodluck Jonathan, has drawn a lot of talking points from a cross section of Nigerian who believe the timing is not good enough, coming barely a month before the President hand over power to in the in-coming Gen. Buhari.

Some are of the opinion that Abba got the sack as he compromised during the presidential election and was not loyal to Jonathan by frolicking with the opposition.

The responses, as usual, was a mix bag with a majority agreeing that the powers of a president is such that he can hire and fire at will.
