Ghana decorates Adenuga with highest national award

Adenuga has been honoured with the highest national award in Ghana for his immense contributions to the growth and development of Ghana.

Ghanaian President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, who conferred the country's highest civil national award, “The Companion of the Star of Ghana (CSG) on Dr. Adenuga, said the multi-billionaire investor was singled out for the prestigious award "in recognition of your unique and outstanding contribution to business enterprise both in Ghana and the continent of Africa at large,”.

Mr Mahama said Dr Adenuga has touched many lives through his creative exertions.

“You have provided employment for our teeming youth, artists, footballers and much more. I am particularly proud of you. This award is our way of saying a simple Thank You”, Mr Mahama said.

In his response, Dr Adenuga thanked the President for recognising his modest contributions to the development of Ghana’s economy. He said the award came "as a great source of pride and encouragement to me. This is more so as it is coming from Your Excellency, whose sterling qualities of leadership I admire greatly”.

The revered multi-billionaire has received numerous awards within and outside Nigeria over the years. He was honoured by the Federal Republic of Nigeria with the National Awards of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) and later with the award of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).

During Nigeria’s 50th anniversary celebration, Adenuga was one of the 50 pre-eminent Nigerians who was conferred with the Special Golden Jubilee Independence Anniversary Awards by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Apart from these, Dr Adenuga  was named the African Telecoms Entrepreneur of the year for his courageous and rapid investment in the telecoms sector. He has been named as the ‘Man of the Year’ by most of the notable newspapers in Nigeria, including the highly regarded Thisday newspapers.

Over and over again he has been voted Nigeria’s Most Outstanding Business Personality over the last 30 years. He continues to exert a positive influence on the business sector, within and outside Nigeria.
