A two-year-old baby boy met his untimely death in the hands of thugs allegedly sent by a woman identified simply as Toyin to beat up its mother, Beatrice, over a disagreement, when the hoodlums smashed him on the floor while beating the mother.

The sad incident which saw the toddler killed in such a brutal manner happened at the Bajare Camp in the Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was gathered that the middle-aged Toyin had some issues with Beatrice and to settle scores, she led the thugs to deal with her and in the process, the baby that was strapped to his mother's back was snatched by the miscreants who smashed him on the floor, leading to instant death.

An eyewitness narrated how the baby was killed:

“During the scuffle, the baby boy who was strapped to his mother’s back was smashed against the floor by one of the thugs, leading to his death.

After that, the thugs immediately fled the area while the toddler was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead."

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Wole Ogodo, has confirmed the incident, saying the suspect and her thugs had been arrested and investigations are ongoing.

“People who are having issues with one another should always cultivate the habit of reporting the case to the appropriate quarters for onward action rather than taking the law into their own hands.”
