Donald Glover is the first black person to ever win an Emmy for outstanding directing in comedy.

He beat directors of "Veep" and "Silicon Valley" to nab the award.
Receiving the Emmy, Glover thanked fellow "Atalanta" director and producer Hirp Murao for being his best friend and teaching him the art of directing.
"This really beyonds to Hiro Murai. He taught me everything about directing," he said.
"He had the eye for this show and he's just amazing. I really want to give this to Hiro and just say 'I love you and thank you for being my best friend."
Glover also won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Earnest "Earn" Marks.
He was also nominated for Outstanding Writing, but lost to Aziz Ansari and Lena Waithe's "Master of None."
"Atlanta" is an American comedy-drama television series about two cousins navigating their way in the Atlanta rap scene in an effort to improve their lives and the lives of their families.
