AGN responds to actor's abandonment claim

The Secretary-General of AGN under Ibinabo Fiberesima has responded to Ernest Asuzu's claim that Nollywood abandoned him to face his illness alone.

Speaking to Pulse Nigeria, Abubakar Yakubu - AGN National Secretary under Ibinabo Fiberesima -agreed that the body is indeed obligated to check up on sick actors.

"Thank God that he [Asuzu] is out of it. Everyone knows that the Ibinabo administration was very passionate about member's welfare in terms of reaching out to members who were ill," Yakubu said.

You know, we are all humans and the illness lingered for long."

In an interview published on September 28, 2017, Asuzuwho was recently ill with stroke, accused Nollywood and AGN of abandoning him.

"All the Nollywood actors ignored me, including Ibinabo who was the AGN president at that time. She never came to check on me, all the actors never came even till now,"  he said to Linda Ikeji Blog.
