How to register for 2018 UTME

This is a step by step guide on how to register for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

Some candidates have registered and some haven't. As for those who have not registered for the examination, this piece will guide you on how to go about it in just five easy steps.

These are the five simple steps to registering for UTME.

1. Get a personal email and phone number

Each candidate must have a personal e-mail address and mobile phone number before registering for UTME.

2. Create a JAMB profile on the JAMB Portal

Each candidate is expected to create a JAMB profile on the JAMB Portal through JAMB Mobile App available on Android, Windows and iOS platforms or visits a Bank, NIPOST to create his/her JAMB profile on the JAMB portal- www.jamb.org.ng.

Your name, date of birth, personal e-mail address and place of origin will be required to create the profile.

3. Get your confirmation code from JAMB

You can do this by sending your “Surname Firstname Othername” to 55019. N50 will be charged for the SMS. Once this is done, JAMB will send your confirmation code to you.

4. Go to bank to purchase JAMB E-pin

After receiving your confirmation code, go to any JAMB authorised banks to purchase JAMB E-pin. These banks include Union Bank,

Zenith Bank, Access Bank, First Bank, SkyeBank, Eco Bank, Fidelity Bank, Jaiz Bank, FCMB, Sterling Bank, GT Bank, CBT Centres, JAMB State Offices and Nigerian Postal Agencies [NIPOST]

The bank official will ask for your confirmation code to generate your e-pin.

5. Go to a CBT centre to register

Having purchased the JAMB e-pin, you can now go to any CBT centre around you for registration.

You will be asked to provide your O’level result, JAMB E-pin, confirmation code and a passport. After the registration, you will be given your print out and the prescribed reading text at no extra cost.
