Government to unveil 3 new tourist sites
The Government of Cross River has announced plans to unveil three new tourism sites during the Leboku Festival.

The government says three new tourism sites will be unveiled during the 2016 edition of the festival with the theme 'Celebration of Peace'.

The information was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Events Management, Mr Kenn Aklar, during the pre-Leboku festival briefing held in Yakurr LGA on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
The new sites as named by Mr Kenn Aklar are Edem Omini Akpa stone lin Ijiman; Ekumiede Water Fall in Biokobioko; and the Leiwil Wettu cold and warm spring in Yakurr.
The Special Adviser said that the Leboku festival is part of the Government's tourism drive. It is also part of the Government's efforts to encourage youth inclusion, participation and productivity.
Ofem Eteng, Paramount Ruler of Ugep, said that these new sites would add to the tourism potentials in Cross River State.
He also said that the Leboku festival has a spiritual and cultural significance to the people of Ugep and Yakurr.
The Leboku International Cultural Festival begins on Monday, August 22, 2016.
