Nigeria Opens Camp In London

One of Africa's representative at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Nigeria has opened its pre-world cup camp in London.

The camp which opened on Sunday, will have the 30 players who are enlisted in the provisional list which was released by the Federation a forthnight ago, all  meet in the camp in preparation for their first round games of the 2014 FIFA world Cup and an international Scotland friendly to be played in two days time; May 28.

It is reported that Super Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi led the number of five home based players into the London Camp while the foreign based are expected to join from their respective bases across Europe..

Topping the list of the home based players who left the shores of the African nation with the coach is Goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, who is joined by the rest of the home entourage into London: Daniel Akpeyi, Ejike Uzoenyi, Kunle Odunlami, and Azubuike Egwuekwe.

The friendly against Scotland is to prepare the team for the final tour of Brazil and also to enable the coach select a final 23 Man squad that will dorn the colours of Nigeria in the mundial. the match is scheduled to take place at Craven Cottage, home to the English premiership side Fulham.

The reigning African champions will make a base detour for the United States after the Friendly where they are also expected to play two other pre-world cup games against 2014 World Cup nations;  Greece and the USA before finally arriving their base in Curitiba, venue of the first round game against Iran at the World Cup.

The team landed safely in London at about 2:15 pm with fourteen players on board, with an addition of 9 foreign based players who had to join the team from Nigeria, as reported by local media.

The list of foreign based players who joined the team included Godfrey Oboabona, Ogenyi Onazi, Victor Obinna Nsofor, Ahmed Musa, Michael Uchebo, Juwon Oshaniwa, Gariel Reuben, Sunday Mba and Efe Ambrose. The others were to join the team on Sunday night and the team will have its first training today, Monday night.

Nigeria is grouped alongside former World Champions Argentina, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Super Eagles have 'promised' that they shall make history at this world cup; by surpassing the previous record , going beyond the second round.
