On whether she feels pressured to succeed now that she’s signed to a popular label, Tonye says “I think you feel pressured in whatever you are doing, you want your music to be out there, you want your persona to be out there’ but at the same time, I’ve been pushing on my own for years and this obviously is a biger platform for me but you know  we’ve been doing this for years, myself and my team, so I feel like you know with this, you know there’s a lot more people involved and there’s just more of an extra push so I’m really excited about this journey”

Tonye broke into limelight with her song ng titled ‘What about us? used at the Nigerian Youth Presidential debate in 2011. She has released her debut single since signing with MMMG – a love song titled ‘Written in the stars’ produced by Mystro.
