Buhari to host players, coaches in January 2017

The Super Falcons on Saturday, December 3 beat host Cameroon to win the 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON).

After the win, President Buhari congratulated the Super Falcons via and also with a statement in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.

The Super Falcons arrived Lagos on Sunday, December 4, a day after winning the AWCON title.

After getting hosted in a reception at the Ambassador hotel in Lekki, Lagos, the team flew to Abuja awaiting the invitation from the Presidency.

Buhari, however, is on an official trip to Senegal, for the  2016 Dakar Forum, an event  that has been scheduled for a long time.

Pulse Sports sources have revealed that the presidency will be hosting the Super Falcons in January 2017.

No specific date in January has been chosen.

Sports Minister Solomon Dalung wants the players and coaches to be rewarded with national honours.
