There is news about Abdulrasheed Bawa, Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

On Saturday, April 23, 2022 Bawa attended the Premier League game between rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.

The EFCC boss was in attendance at the Emirates Stadium in North London to watch Arsenal beat down Cristiano Ronaldo's Manchester United 3-1 in a crucial Premier League fixture.

On Sunday, April 24, 2022, pictures of Bawa from the game began to trend on social media.

The EFCC boss is seen wearing a Gunners cap and scarf smiling.

It can be deduced from the picture that Bawa is an Arsenal fan and was in celebratory mood as the Gunners were victorious on the day.

The EFCC set up by former President Olusegun Obasanjo back in 2003 investigates financial crimes such as advance fee fraud and money laundering.

Nigerians were baffled that the EFCC chairman would go fly out to watch a game in the United Kingdom knowing how expensive it is to fly out of the country and get tickets to such an event.

Nigerians began to question the integrity of Bawa who has been credited with thoroughly going against those found guilty of money laundering by the EFCC.

The general reaction to Bawa's visit to the Arsenal game was negative although some Nigerians joked that it could be a solution for those accused by the EFCC.

With the knowledge now public of his allegiance to Arsenal, some Nigerians jovially said when having an encounter with the EFCC the Gunners can be a way out of the trouble.
