For the first time in weeks, it looked like we have a title race on our hands after the wins from Rivers United and Plateau United on the road, MFM's rejuvenation continued, while Shooting Stars dropped points at home once more.
With that being said, here's our NPFL team of the week for the match day.
FORMATION: 3-4-3
GOALKEEPER
Suraj Ayeleso (Plateau United)
The shot-stopper made a couple of saves in the game and ensured his side nick a win on the road.
DEFENDERS
Dennis Ndasi (Rivers United)
The Cameroonian defender was at his best against his former side. Fabulous performance he had against Sai Masu Gida.
Andrew Ikefe (Plateau United)
The experienced defender sent a lovely ball out from the back to Izuchukwu Chimezie for the opener.
Besides that, he was rock solid at the back.
Olawale Doyeni (Enugu Rangers)
He was excellent at the heart of the defence and did win most of his duels as his side left Ibadan with a point.
MIDFIELDERS
Ikenna Cooper (Sunshine Stars)
A game of goal contribution for the midfielder against his former side. He was assured in possession and quite good on the day.
Kenechukwu Agu (Enugu Rangers)
He was the leader of the orchestra for his team. Dominated play with absolute ease and was highly involved in his sides build up to the goal.
Wisdom Fernando (Akwa United)
Two asssists from the speedster for the Promise Keepers. He was simply unplayable in the final third.
Sani Faisal (Katsina United)
The full back had a wonderful game against fellow strugglers Dakkada. He was the provider for the second goal in the big win.
FORWARDS
Alao Danbani (Kwara United)
An important goal on the road for the forward. He has now scored in back-to-back games for the Harmony Boys.
Ugochukwu Leonard (Sunshine Stars)
The forward worked tirelessly in the game and scored two well taken goals to help his side claim another home win.
Chibundu Amah (Katsina United)
The winger scored in the game and was a constant threat down the wings for the Changi Boys.
COACH OF THE WEEK
Fidelis Ilechukwu (Plateau United)
Another fabulous win on the road for his side as they continue to charge for their second league title in five years.
