In Ibadan, former Vandrezzer boys Kola Daniel and Aniete Uko ran the show for Shooting Stars against an helpless Heartland, while Rafiu Ishaq scored twice to lead his side to victory at home against Dakkada FC.
More players had prominent performances during the match day, but here is our team of the week after match day ten.
Formation - 4-3-3
GOALKEEPER
Bankole Kayode (Remo Stars): The goalkeeper was tested a few times in the game and he did not fail. Matured performance from him in the end as his side kept their run ongoing in the league.
DEFENDERS
Ghali Falke (Shooting Stars): The right-full back held his own against Heartland. Despite an uninspiring first half-half team performance, he was one of the stand out players in the comfortable win in the end.
Abiodun Adebayo (Niger Tornadoes): The experienced defender had a fine display against Lobi Stars. He was calm, composed and gave his all to help his side pick their first point away from home this season.
Buhari Ibrahim (Plateau United): A beast in both boxes. He headed home the winner and marshaled the rest of the defence to keep a rare clean sheet away from home.
Daniel Itodo (Plateau United): The long-throw specialist did the damage in the keenly contested game for his side. Assured performance from the left-back.
MIDFIELDERS
Daniel Wotlai (Abia Warriors): He was his usual self and most importantly helped his side claim a comfortable home win.
Uko Aniete (Shooting Stars): The defensive midfielder had an outstanding performance in front of the home fans as he created two goals in the one sided encounter.
Micheal Tochukwu (Nasarawa United): The midfielder held his own against the former Champions. He was involved in the build-up to both goals as his side came from a goal down to record a win.
FORWARDS
Ishaq Rafiu (Rivers United) - The forward scored both goals to lead his side to victory. He’s been the league’s best player so far and did the business for the Pride of Rivers on the day.
Valentine Odoh (Abia Warriors) - The striker capped off a fine debut with two goals for his side in the game. He took his goals brilliantly and was never shy of getting into the thick of the action.
Yusuf Abdulazeez (Gombe United): The forward scored two well-taken goals in his side’s easy win over MFM on Thursday. He keeps getting better and has now scored six times this campaign for the Savannah Scorpions.
COACH OF THE WEEK
Fidelis Ilechukwu (Plateau United) - The highly-rated gaffer managed to get his maiden win on the road after numerous attempts this season. More-so it came against one of the best sides in the league this season.
