"I am glad it is over now" late producer's second wife says
Late producer, singer and songwriter, OJB Jezreel was finally laid to rest today, July 8, 2016 at the Ikoyi cemetry, Ikoyi.
His second wife, June Okungbowa expressed her gratitude to God about how things went. Speaking about her dearly departed husband she said, "Everything has been going on well. Today went well", adding, "I am glad now it is over, we can all rest."
His first son, also had some words for his late father. According to him, he feels sad OJB will never be around for his wedding. "What made my dad my dad is gone, this is not my dad." I'm going to miss the fact that he wouldn't be around for my wedding, he wouldn't carry my children. Most of the things I envisaged to achieve, he wouldn't be there. He would just be a memory."
Last night a Service of Songs and Tributes was held in the late producer's honour. The event which was anchored by Okey Bakassi had in attendance some of the entertainment industry's popular faces such as: K- Solo, Essence, Rasqie, DJ Humility, KSB, Okey Bakassi, Sammie Okposo, Lara George, Azadus, Dj Boombastic, Grace Amah, Dj Gosporella, Jazzman Olofin and Ruggedman.
OJB is survived by his father, Chief Anthony Okungbowa (Arase of Agbor); siblings, Mrs. Theresa Ebunola Gamba (USA), Mr. Cornelius Archibong (England), Mr. Albert Okungbowa (USA), Mr. Anthony Okungbowa, Marvin Okungbowa, Bose Ajila Okungbowa, Joseph Okungbowa; wives, Mabel Babatunde Okungbowa, June Okungbowa, Korede Okungbowa and eight children.
