After Odion Ighalo's double against Newcastle United, Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores is happy with his decision to keep the striker at the club.
The striker last week signed a new five-year-contract after he revealed that he rejected crazy money to remain with Watford.
He continued with his good form by scoring the double to hand Watford all the three points against Newcastle United on Saturday, September 19 at Saint James Park.
After the win, Flores praised his team for the team and also expressed excitement in keeping Ighalo.
"The win was well deserved. I want to praise the whole team but Odion was very good," the manager said.
"We took a decision to keep him two months ago, there were offers from other teams. It was a clever decision."
For the Steve McClaren’s Newcastle side, it's now six games without a win in the English Premier League.
Odion got his first chance in the after he received a pas from Almen Abdi unmarked in the box, but could smashed wide with only Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul to beat.
He made amends for the miss four minutes later cutting a low shot into the bottom corner from 12 yards.
Newcastle had the a chance to level through Papiss Cisse buthe lashed wide.
Ighalo got his second of the day after he was played in by his striker partner Troy Deeney.
Newcastle got their only goal through Daryl Janmaat just after the hour mark.
Watford however held on for a 2-1 win.
