It was a cagey affair for large periods of the game before the former MFM man was introduced into the game. After a goalless affair in the first half, it was the diminutive midfielder who fired home from inside the area in the final ten minutes to inflict another loss on Finidi George’s side.
Nothing to separate the Orange sides
Champions Akwa United and Sunshine Stars played out a goalless draw at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. Despite the pre-match statistics backing a goalfest, the two sides failed to find their scoring range as the game surprisingly ended without a goal.
The visitors came close to opening the scoring several times, but goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka kept his side in the game with the Promise Keepers failing to create enough in the final third.
The result left Kennedy Boboye’s men ninth, while Sunshine Stars are behind them by just a point.
