During on Saturday, March 26 in an African Cup of Nations qualifiers, about 40,000 fans crammed into the 16,000-seater Ahmadu Bello Stadium to watch the game.

Fans stood and hung on anything to watch the game; CAF has fined and warned NFF over the incident.

The fine of N1.6m ($5,000) have been handed to the NFF because of the overcrowding and lack of security at the stadium.

CAF also fined Egypt same sum because of 'excessive usage of lasers' by fans during the return leg in Alexandria.
