The Pope’s Ipad was given to a Uruguayan priest-Gonzalo Aemilius, who in turn, donated it to the Francisco de Paysandu high school, north of capital Montevideo.

The school tried to auction it off on several occasions, and finally succeeded through local auction house Castells.

In addition to the main item auctioned-Ipad, there is also a Logitech keyboard and a certificate signed by Pope Francis' personal secretary, Fabian Pedacchio Leaniz.

The identity of the winning bidder was not released to the public.
