Man arrested in connection to missing Nursing student

Her disappearance is said to be completely out of character

Andrew Pacteau, 21, who was identified by police as the man who picked up Karen from a Glasgow nightclub on Sunday morning, has been detained in connection with the disappearance

Karen Buckley, 24, was last seen leaving the Sanctuary club in Glasgow, Scotland, on Saturday.

Andrew Pacteau, 21, who was identified by police as the man who picked up Karen from a Glasgow nightclub on Sunday morning, has been detained in connection with the disappearance, with officers saying they are ‘following a definite line of enquiry.’

Pacteau told officers that he and Karen, who is originally from Cork, Ireland, had slept together and that she had left his Dorchester Avenue flat to walk home at around 4am.

Despite initially insisting Pacteau was not a suspect, it emerged he had been detained just after 6.30pm.

Investigations are still ongoing as regards the missing Nursing student.
