Minister says TV digitalisation would create thousands of job

Mohammed made this known when he visited Gyang Buba, the Gbong Gwom Jos on Friday, March 4, 2016.

“This project is going to bring a revolution not just to communication and media industry in terms of television, advertising, content producing and film making,” he said.

“But it is going to change the economy in a manner that has never been seen before. Over 5, 000 direct jobs for engineers, another 15, 000 for technicians, hundreds of thousands of jobs for people who will become retailers and vendors in all the local governments of the federation.”

The minister also disclosed that the process would also see Nigerians watching a minimum of 30 channels on their television free of charge.

Mohammed had visited Jos for the pilot scheme of the digitisation, which has April as deadline.
