Manchester City legend, Goater hails Nigerian forward

Goater who scored 101 goals for City has urged new City coach Pep Guardiola to rely on youngster rather than spending big on another forward.

“A few months ago I used to think we needed a forward to push Aguero but Kelechi Iheanacho has a frightening record and is excelling in his role,” he told 888sport.

“He also has a good work ethic and this is a key thing Pep Guardiola will be looking for next season – a work ethic as well as producing goals.”

The forward’s rise in football continues as he featured for City in their Champions League semi-final second leg loss to Real Madrid.

The 19-year-old was introduced in the second half but could not inspire City as they crashed out of the Champions League.
