Jack Warner questions charges following release

Former FIFA vice-president Jack Warner has questioned the charges levelled against him following his release from a Trinidad and Tobago jail.

Warner - one of 14 people indicted on charges of racketeering, conspiracy and corruption by the United States Department of Justice on Wednesday - was said o have handed himself in to authorities following the earlier arrest of seven defendants at the FIFA congress in Zurich.

Subsequent reports suggest Warner left jail in an ambulance after one night in custody, apparently suffering from exhaustion, before giving a speech to a crowd of supporters.

"If I have been thieving FIFA money for 30 years, who give me the money?," he is quoted as saying. "How come he is not charged?

"Why only persons from third world countries have been charged?

Warner has reportedly reportedly been bailed and is expected to appear in court in July.
