Unknown gunmen unleashed terror on the state on Friday April 3, killing APC faithful and a monarch.

Details are scanty at this time.

Rivers State has been volatile since the Presidential and National assembly elections, where the APC candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari emerged winner.

Members of the APC in the state had alleged that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) massively rigged the presidential election to favour the PDP candidate, incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan; thereby called for the cancellation of the election in a petition to the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega.

Jega however dismissed the petition, stating that there were no substantial evidences enough to cancel the elections in the state.

Story developing.
