The party made the allegations on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, via a statement released by spokesperson, Emma Okah.

The statement reads in part:

“However, in the face of this provocation, the PDP urges the people of Rivers State to remain calm as their governor-elect will be sworn in on May 29, 2015, as ordained by God like his colleagues in other states.”

Wike, the PDP governorship candidate for the state, defeated APC candidate, Dakuku Peterside to emerge winner of the April 11 elections.
