According to Vanguard, the protesters were from Yewa North, Abeokuta South and Abeokuta North Local Government areas. They lamented that over 60, 000 of them were unable to collect their PVCs.

“Over 60,000 of us will be denied our constitutional right to vote in the forthcoming elections, as we do not have our permanent voter’s cards,” one of the protesters, a medical doctor and a three-time former commissioner, Isiak Salako said.

Head of General Administration and Procurement of INEC in Ogun State, Olatoye Olufemi said the commission was expecting outstanding PVCS from Abuja.

“At the moment, we have sent our official to Abuja to collect outstanding PVCs.  The commission here in Ogun State has been able to distribute over 70 percent of the total number of PVCs received from Abuja, but we are still expecting more,” he said.
