Explosions, gunshots rock troubled town

The town of Maiduguri in Borno State has again witnessed unrest as two loud explosions were reportedly heard in the town on Sunday, March 15.

The blasts were said to have gone off at about 9:56 pm and were followed by the sound of gunshots, according to Sahara Reporters.

“I heard loud explosions tonight but we don’t know the directions. As I am speaking to you, frightened children are crying all over the place,” a resident of Maiduguri, Bitrus Wida said.

Two teenagers had been reportedly been caught planting bombs at the popular Monday Market earlier in the day but the location of the latest blasts is not yet known.
