Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe has stirred fresh reactions online after sharing an old video of herself and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux kissing, captioned with the now-viral phrase "Free Juma Jux."

The clip shows Monroe and Jux sharing an intimate moment from their past relationship, before Jux went on to marry Nigerian actress and influencer Priscilla Ojo in 2025. Monroe did not tag Priscilla or explain her reason for reposting the old footage, leaving many followers to interpret it as a deliberate jab rather than simple nostalgia.

The timing is notable. "Free Juma Jux" didn't originate with Monroe's post; it began weeks earlier as a campaign among Tanzanian fans concerned about Jux's noticeably slimmer physique, with some directly blaming his marriage to Priscilla for the change. 

The campaign escalated enough that Tanzania's Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr Dorothy Gwajima, publicly addressed it, warning critics against picking fights with Jux's in-laws over what she called a misguided cause. 

Priscilla herself responded to the pressure days earlier by changing her Instagram bio to "Mrs Free Jux," a move that drew mixed reactions across both Nigeria and Tanzania. Jux has said the weight change is simply the result of a disciplined gym routine.

Against that backdrop, Monroe's throwback video landed as something sharper than a random old clip, an ex appearing to insert herself into an already-tense public conversation about the marriage, using old intimacy rather than commentary on his weight.

This isn't the first time footage of Monroe and Jux together has stirred controversy. A previous viral video of the two kissing was widely linked to the end of Jux's prior relationship with Tanzanian partner Karen Bujulu, before he went on to date and eventually marry Priscilla.

Reactions to Monroe's latest post have been largely critical, with many social media users accusing her of struggling to move on from a past relationship and questioning why she would resurface intimate memories involving a man who is now married. As of publication, neither Monroe, Jux, nor Priscilla has directly addressed the post.
