'Genius' Ronaldo Will Impress At World Cup - Zidane

"Ronaldo is an exciting talent. We see him train every day at Real Madrid and believe me, he is simply a genius," Zidane said in an interview with The Times of India.

Zidane believes that the Portuguese will be able to replicate his impressive club form in the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

"He is the best according to us, and I have every reason to believe that Cristiano will set the grass on fire.

"I don’t see why he cannot carry his club form into the World Cup. What he has been achieving for Real Madrid is amazing"

Portugal face a daunting World Cup group stage where they will dig it out with Germany but Zidane believes it will not be a problem with the World number one's current form.

"Yes, Portugal are in a difficult group with Germany but Cristiano has already shown his talents when they faced Germany at the same stage of Euro 2012.

Barcelona will be hoping the forward is fit enough for Champions League final against Atletico Madrid next week, after dropping out of a warm-up match against Espanyol with a hamstring injury concern on Saturday.
