Speaking at a presidential debate, he said:

“We are going to do something that is going to (be) great (and) a very big beneficiary is going to be Michigan. The car business is being abused more than most other businesses. ... Mexico is becoming the new China."

Trump's excuse is that Ford’s Mexican plants will negatively affect US plants.

He added that his goal is for Japanese automakers to build cars in America.

This threat comes after Ford revealed plans to have plants in Mexico because it would increase vehicle production by 350,000 cars annually.

Ford spokeswoman, Kelli Felker, announced that the company would reveal more on its plans for the plant in Mexico in the first quarter of this year.

This plant should cost about $1.5 billion.
