This story gives a vivid explanation of the inspiration for the color palette down to every detail that each model wore. Every detail has a significant meaning in the characterization of each model. For example, the white and distorted eyes are symbolic of being blinded, only having tunnel vision. This helps each character stay on the straight pathway, in efforts to complete the journey. These white/blinded eyes occur in a state of when the natural eye color fades, because of an inability to view things the same way others view them.

The hair is stretched atop of their heads like tree branches and roots as a symbol of the foundation or being rooted. Although most would think of the feet being planted, VonRay Designs wants the mind to remain planted and rooted. The Black Floral Crowns were hand-crafted with love to remind the characters that through the roots, a garden of flowers can grow. This represents freedom and relaxation, knowing that they are safe.

Some characters have Black paint on their hands as a visualization of the mixture of blood, sweat and tears. This mixture shows that they chose to keep their hands dirty so that can look down at their hands and as a constant reminder of the journey, and to stay inspired every time they want to give up. Makeup artistry is perhaps one of the most important aspects that can bring the characters to life. A very creative makeup artist was able to look at the collection and styling for inspiration; and given the freedom to use the models as her canvass to showcase the interpretation of the vision.

One signature aspect of VonRay Designs is to utilize white shoes on models to represent feet washing and the new journey. However, this journey is different from any other. Lastly, the Black shoes represent the idea these are white shoes, but have become filthy from the traveled journey. The JOURNEY collection by VonRay Designs show a beautiful light that was created through the darkness. This is almost an autobiographical vision of occurrences that VonRay experienced during late 2017. Through experiencing this darkness, beautiful light was created in this collection.

JOURNEY:

There are seven beautiful creatures originating from the same womb of creativity. They are sisters, but became divided by life decisions and a variety of curiosities. They differ in age and talent; however, are stars in their own right. They all have “STAR” attached to their names, because they are stars no matter how dark the journey gets. Since words are so important, giving the sisters, these names shows that they embody the necessary light to continue through the darkness of their journey.

Each of them are wanderers of the earth in what appears as an unusual human form. They share similar experiences, through periods of connection and autonomy, as they grow and travel. Each of these sisters can be identified as “journeys”, which can also be called “situations”. Some of these journeys are powerful, and some have weakened due to so many bruises.

The youngest journeys’ name is Mar’DaiSTAR. She is free-spirited, and has a heart with no refusal button attached. She has the talent to holistically heal anyone; as she is a chemist by nature. Mar’DaiSTAR often remains protected from humanistic emotions, due to her being equipped with freedom; but she is bit naïve. Her naïveté saves her from caring wholeheartedly, and being consistently damaged and hurt, like her sister ChaSTAR.

ChaSTAR is a very talented painter. She tends to win the hearts of many by painting masterpieces, silently. She began painting when she lost the love of her life, who was the one who taught her how to paint. He would show her how to create combinations of colors, and how to make canvases from scratch. ChaSTAR decided to take painting seriously, in remembrance of him, her love for the artistry allowing her imagination to work, and to shield her from the world. Painting is her ultimate mask of protection, but it also acts as an introduction to other worlds.

BreSTAR is the dancing journey. She also has the talent to blend in with different objects and atmospheres, like a chameleon. Her blending skills are her defense mechanism to protect her from harm. She is the motherly sister that is very protective of her bloodline.

DutchSTAR is the journey that has two major talents of drawing and singing. She was born with a condition that most don’t notice, because she keeps it covered up with a metal shield. Her heart sits outside her chest, and spectators can see it beating, while the blood runs through her veins. Sometimes her heart bleeds, when she can’t move her hands to draw. All of the sisters are very loving and protective of DutchSTAR, and will fight for her to the end.

PurpSTAR is a poetic, wordsmith. She moves with a quiet, mysterious demur; but can lyrically talk her way out of any situation put in front of her. She feeds children along her journey, and God rewards her with positioning in high places.

DeSTAR is the sister with special baking talent. She bakes and smiles, but cannot speak. Even though the world has attempted to take her voice and shame her into silence, she does tell lively and vivid stories through her baked goods. Her protection comes from her feeding others, and making sure they are satisfied.

LinSTAR is the middle child of the seven sisters, and is usually the center of attention. She has a thing with nature. LinSTAR is so connected with nature that butterflies morph through her skin and clothes. These butterflies are small, angelic beings that build a fence around her for protection. She is also a special journey, because trees have rooted from her mind as a reward for her awareness of where her talent and happiness reside. She can make anything in nature obey her with the sweetness and meekness she possesses spiritually.

These seven sisters roam the Earth, many times in silence, but can send signals through their hand movements, and eyes. They are poetry in motion. Some of the sisters have permanently stained fingers from their hard work. This is a constant reminder of the amount of work that they have already done, and what they have yet to accomplish. Notice that four of the sisters, PurpSTAR, DeSTAR, BreSTAR, and DutchSTAR did not inherit the eye discoloration. This is a special privilege that they have to earn throughout their traveling.

Since they are born of the same creativity, these sisters share a common goal, which is to change as many lives as they can while wandering the world. They want to reflect that there is an inherent beauty in the difficulty of the journey. By showing this transparency, they are able to encourage everyone that they encounter, by illustrating that everything happens for a reason. These journeys help individuals that they meet see that success comes from viewing life as blessings and lessons.

When you see one of these journeys, you will be immediately intrigued and captivated by their unique features, and the way they make you feel. Sometimes the journeys travel together, because the good and the bad can happen simultaneously. It is a chance that many will become one with these journeys, because of their experiences mirroring many of your own. They walk with a beautiful darkness surrounding them, and they will protect themselves at any cause.

These journeys are symbolic to spiritual battles that some of us deal with on a daily basis. We all have our own experiences that we must triumph over. Some of us are reflecting a journey where we are silent and just want to create as DeSTAR. She cannot talk, but can show people how she feels. She thrives to make people satisfied. Some of us are reflecting a journey where we able to camouflage ourselves from the world, like BreSTAR. We are able to shield ourselves when we are weary and discouraged. Some of us aspire to complete a journey, in remembrance of a loved one who has passed or that has left our life, as ChaSTAR has.

Some of us wish to be one with people, as LinSTAR is with nature. We strive to make people understand us and be at peace with us like she is able to. Some of us wish to be able to express ourselves with words. The great ability to tell people how we feel, in effort to get out of situations or to capture the hearts of many is a gift that many desire, but PurpSTAR has mastered. Some of us wear our hearts in visible places like DutchSTAR does. When we are hurt people can see; and sadly, we bleed tears when we cannot be ourselves.

Lastly, some of wish to view life in the most innocent and naïve way as Mar’DaiSTAR. She is the most special of all of the journeys, because she gets life right without even knowing. She does not worry or stress, because she is naive, free-spirited, and has no care in the world. Because she does not see herself as broken, she is equipped to heal others, naturally. This is a direct reflection of depending on GOD, and leaving your worries with HIM; to be free in HIM and travel our journeys in full faith.
