Samuel Eto'o claimed he was the victim of racism when he went shopping at a West London Jewellers'. The 34-year-old, one time "highest paid player per week" at £350,000, was targeted when he tried to buy a watch worth £10,000.

Eto'o who received the European Medal of Tolerance for his anti-racism work, said he had gone to the store with his brother and noticed he was being observed suspiciously by the shop attendant.

He told CNN how his brother had stood up to them, saying they were refusing to sell to him because he was black. The shop attendants said in defence that their scepticism was as a result of some Nigerians who had previously come to the store days ago with "fake credit cards".

He also commented on the train racist incident saying he was 'shocked'.
