On this weekly column, we highlight five of the biggest lessons we learnt from matchday 12 of the English Premier League

1. Watford 1 Vs Manchester United 2: Van Gaal still winning

Call them lucky or whatever you you want, Manchester United are still winning in the English Premier League.

From 13 games, the Red Devils have won eight games, drawn three and lost just two games.

What Louis van Gaal have succeeded in doing at Manchester United is make them compact at the back and hi midfield while allowing them to sort out their attack.

Goalscoring is their only problem, but despite all these, Van Gaal's men are quietly and steadily winning matches and gaining points.

We all know they are not champions material but with Arsenal and Manchester City flattering to deceive, United will be in the best position to take home the EPL trophy.

2. Newcastle United 0 Vs  Leicester City 3:  Jamie Vardy cannot be ignored

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy in matchday 13 equalled Ruud van Nistelrooy's record of scoring in 10 consecutive Premier League games.

This man cannot be ignored again.

The 28-year-old has been in imperious form for Leicester City who are currently on top of the EPL table.

Its later in November, and Leicester City are the EPL leaders all thanks to Jamie Vardy.

I think a top four finish would have crawled into the hearts of Leicester City fans.

With Vardy on top form, that is attainable.

3. West Brom 2 Vs Arsenal I: Arsene Wenger is Arsenal's only problem

Arsenal missed out on another chance to go top of the EPL courtesy of a 2-1 defeat to Wwest Brom.

The Gunners have had a good season so far but all that is being threatened by injuries.

Arsenal currently have eight first team players out with injury and the latest addition kight prove teh turning point for Arsenal this season.

A knee injury meant that Francis Coquelin was substituted in the first half of the loss to West Brom and the midfielder who in my opinion is Arsenal's most important player could be out till the new year.

This is where Wenger has failed Arsenal again. Not one outfield player was signed by Wenger in the summer transfer window. Arsenal were struggling last season with Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini before Coquelin came into the side.

Knowing his side's injury, Wenger refused to sign a back-up for Coquelin leaving Flamini and Arteta as the players to replace the injured midfielder. The players who failed Arsenal last year, are the ones who Wenger expect to win the EPL with this year.

I'm tired of talking about Wenger. He is Arsenal's biggest probem.

4. Manchester City 1 Vs Liverpool 4: Pellegrini's midfield is in shambles

Manchester City are a wonderful side and are being tipped by many to still win the EPL despite their 4-1 thrashing by Liverpool.

Their midfielder however have become a main issue for them. In the loss against Liverpool, City midfield were completely outplayed by Liverpool and that is where they lost the game.

Yaya Toure and Fernando were outplayed and outrun by Lucas Leiva, Emre Can, JamesMilner. City's midfield lack pace allowing the likes of Phillipe Coutinho and Firmino to have an easy day in the middle of the pack.

Toure can be force on his day, going forward, but defensively, the big Ivorian has nothing to offer.

City also seem to go into games without any sort of respect for opponents. Open in midfielder and looking to always attack. Well, what a lesson they have learnt.

Respect opponents and be compact from the midfielder.

5. Tottenham 4 Vs West Ham 1: Mauricio Pochettino has something up his sleeves

Totenham cruised past West Ham to maintain their fine form. Mauricio Pochettino's men have not lost a league game since their opening day defeat to Manchester United.

Harry Kane is scoring at will, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen keeping the goals out, while Dele Alli is being a sensation in midfield.

I however think a top four finish might be too much for them now, but Pochettino do have something up his sleeves.
