'Your destiny is in a freezer' — Dino Melaye fires back at Charly Boy in viral feud
A war of words has erupted between former Nigerian senator Dino Melaye and veteran musician and activist Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, over recent jabs about Melaye’s flamboyant lifestyle.
Charly Boy had earlier mocked the ex-lawmaker for flaunting his wealth online, reacting to a video where Melaye declared himself “a limited edition” with no equal.
Known for his luxury cars and flashy fashion, Melaye’s latest post stirred backlash from entertainers, who hinted at deeper emotional issues behind the former senator’s bravado.
"Not all mental illnesses are noticeable," Charly Boy said, suggesting that Melaye's social media displays may be a cover for personal struggles. But Melaye did not take the comments lightly.

In a strongly worded video posted to Facebook on Thursday, May 17, he accused Charly Boy of seeking attention at his expense.
"He wanted to use my name to gain popularity because his destiny has been thrown inside a freezer," Melaye fired back.
The former Kogi West senator continued his tirade with personal jabs, claiming the self-proclaimed “Area Fada” was struggling financially despite appearances.
"I heard he has a leaking roof but no money to fix it. He places a whole big bike in front of his house like a statue and doesn’t see that as a show-off," Melaye added.

The online spat between the two public figures has quickly gained traction on social media, with Nigerians weighing in on the exchange.
Some have defended Melaye’s right to enjoy his wealth, while others applauded Charly Boy for calling out what they see as performative affluence.
Both men are known for their larger-than-life personalities and provocative statements.
While Melaye built a political career marked by controversy and flamboyance, Charly Boy has long used his platform to challenge the establishment and speak out on social issues.
As of now, neither party has indicated plans to de-escalate the feud, leaving fans and followers anticipating the next move in this unfolding celebrity clash.
