After his sensational form this season, Tottenham have made move to secure the talented youngster on a new five-year-deal worth £25,000 per week.

His break-out year came in 2014 when he marshaled and controlled the midfield MK Dons’ 4-0 home win over Manchester United in August, 2014.

His performance earned him plaudits from every pundit in the game and led to comparison with Steven Gerrard.

Having lived up to that expectation so far at Tottenham, scoring five goals in 25 appearances this season.

“I am obviously delighted, the club have been really great with me since I have come here and we have a great young team and I can see us going forward and I am happy to be here,” he said.

“It was not easy [in the first six months] but there are a great bunch of boys here and they have all helped me settle in and all the staff. They have made it easy for me to go out there and do my stuff.

“It helps with your confidence and focus fully on football. When you don't have so much to worry about I think that is important, especially as a young player and moving away it can be quite scary at times, but the boys have all helped me settle in really well and the fans have been brilliant and I can't thank them enough.”
